We’re doubling the size of the day centre
It’s an exciting time at The Clock Tower Sanctuary. Earlier this year, we secured the lease for the floor above our day centre – meaning that the size of our center is doubling!
The high levels of homelessness in Brighton is acutely visible. With an increasing number of homeless young people seeking our help, we have been juggling and struggling to fit everything we do into our current ground floor premises.
As you can imagine, running yoga classes in the center, with the washing machines spinning in the background and the doorbell buzzing, is not ideal. This expansion will mean that we will be able to offer our clients the space and environment conducive to make positive, lasting change.
We’re delighted to have Sam Courtney on board, helping to manage the expansion. She has been busy gathering ideas from our volunteers and clients to help shape the space to challenge, inspire and encourage young homeless people in Brighton and Hove.
Sam says; “This project has been one of the most exciting that I have been involved with. Meeting the young people and seeing the dedication from our wonderful team of volunteers has been my motivation for trying to create an environment and space that they deserve. The CTS is a massive family who, up until now, have been trying to deliver basic needs to Brighton’s most vulnerable young people out of a very limited space. With the expansion will come an opportunity to extend their services and activities to help young people envisage a live for themselves outside of homelessness. I couldn’t be more proud to be involved in making that happen.”
