The day centre

The Clock Tower Sanctuary is a place in central Brighton which is specially for young people who are homeless or insecurely housed.

What it's like here

The Clock Tower Sanctuary is a friendly place where you can relax and do day-to-day things that can be tough when you don't have a place to call home like cooking, showering and laundry.

We can also support you with practicalities like getting sorted with a doctor, benefits and finding a job. The day centre is somewhere you can relax and be yourself. It's warm, friendly and we have a great team of supportive staff and volunteers who can help you get the help you need.

We offer one to one case working with a Support Coordinator who will work with you to identify what you need and how to get there. We also offer help with immediate practical needs like hot lunches & food parcels, warm clothing and access to laundry & bathroom facilities. Access to the day centre now needs to be booked ahead due to COVID-19.

Food at The Clock Tower Sanctuary

A hot takeaway lunch is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays between 1-1:30pm. This will be served outside the centre through the kitchen hatch.

A one-way system will be in operation in the Lewis Buildings alleyway. Please come down the alleyway from the Burger King entrance in Dukes Lane. You can then exit the alleyway via the Trading Post cafe end. Please wear a mask if you can, and social distance from others queuing.

Food parcels will also be available for delivery on Thursdays - please speak to a Support Coordinator to arrange one.

Showers & laundry facilities are available in a limited number - please phone ahead to book, as we cannot offer them on a drop-in basis currently.

Please contact our Support Coordinators for more information about how to access the centre.

"The Clock Tower Sanctuary is a like a family, there's nowhere else like it.  I’ve done fantastic activities and have really picked myself up emotionally. The food is also life-saving. There were days when I didn’t have much of it while running out of money, but I knew I could come here to eat, take care of myself and others and feel better."

- Ivan, aged 23
