Help us and have fun!
If you’re keen to help the Clock Tower Sanctuary, we’ve put together a list of ways you could show support beyond a cash donation, including some fundraising ideas that you can do from home.
If you’re planning a fundraiser, want to discuss ideas or have any questions about supporting CTS then please get in touch via info@thects.org.uk – we’d love to hear from you!
Virtual Fundraising
A virtual fundraiser is a brilliant way to connect with friends, family and colleagues or to challenge yourself – and gather much needed donations too!
Whether you’re a total techy or digital novice, there are an array of platforms, apps and websites that mean it’s never been easier to host a virtual quiz, comedy night or escape room.
Getting active
Set yourself a challenge and get moving for #TeamCTS! Physical challenges can be done solo or as part of a squad – even if you can’t get together in person.
Distance challenges such as walking, running, cycling and swimming can be a brilliant way to push yourself. Pick a target for a total amount you’d like to travel and time you could take doing it – 100km in a month, a one day 5k or a communal Lands’ End to John O’Groats – the possibilities are endless.
Using the Strava app on a smartphone or watch, you can measure your distance travelled as either a team or individual, and sync this to a JustGiving page so your supporters can watch you go!
You can do a sponsored challenge in any sport, at any level. You could run a live streamed yoga, dance or work out class and ask for a donation to take part, do a sponsored relay skip-a-thon or pledge 100 push ups a day for a week! Use your imagination as to how you’d like to get moving, and share your progress on social media to drive donations.
JustGiving is an online fundraising platform where you can tell your story and ask for people to sponsor you in your efforts. You can update on your training and progress, so your followers are with you every step of the way.
Getting together
Fundraising can help bring together friends and family wherever you are, all connected to a cause you care about.
Try hosting a next-level quiz or virtual games night and sell tickets, with proceeds going to CTS. Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet are all great platforms for this. You can share your screen to introduce video and picture rounds, and split teams into ‘breakout rooms’ if they need to discuss answers or work on a challenge.
Have a go at streaming with a gaming marathon, or live performance for friends and followers. Try going live on Twitch, where your audience can watch and comment along, and you can shout out as donations come in. You could also do this on Facebook or Instagram live via your personal account or business page.
Donate to our Wish List
We always gratefully receive donations of items on our Wish List. There’s a wide range of things you could donate to support young homeless people. Whether it’s scarves for the cold, sugar for day centre cuppas, and snacks for food parcels we appreciate support in keeping our supplies topped up.
As a small charity, we haven’t got as much storage space as we’d like! To make sure we only receive gifts we really need, please use the Give Today platform to see our most up to date wish list and make a donation. You can make a purchase delivered directly to us via the site, or let us know if you already have goods to donate from the list.
Special Occasions
If you’ve got a birthday, anniversary or event coming up, consider setting up a fundraiser for The Clock Tower Sanctuary for friends in your network – they can make a donation towards your target as a thoughtful gift – and no worrying about delivery times!
Facebook allows you to do this within their platform, and every penny will go to The CTS, with no charge. Set up a Facebook fundraising page for The Clock Tower Sanctuary – it only takes a moment. You can share this with friends anywhere in the world, set targets and talk about why CTS is such a vital cause.
Alternatively, treat someone to a Virtual Gift via our website. Your generosity will give your loved-one a feel good factor and at the same time be helping one of our clients — win win!

- £20 can pay for a new pair of shoes or clothing for a job interview or first day of work.
- £200 can pay for us to train and support a volunteer to support a young person.
- £500 can pay for a young homeless person to access all of our support and facilities for two months.
"It’s been my absolute privilege to run for CTS. Running a marathon was on my bucket list and I don’t think that dream would have come true if not for knowing I am doing it for such a good reason. I may run more marathons in my life, but I’ll never again run my first – so thank you for a very special experience."
