Monday 6th March 2023, 47 extraordinary humans joined us on the terrace of the Brighton i360 for our biggest and best Big City Sleepout to date!
December of 2022, the dangerously cold weather forced us to postpone the event, so words won’t properly express how elated, humbled and proud we were to finally watch the sun rise and set on a wonderfully successful event.
BBC Radio Sussex stopped by the terrace of the Brighton i360, interviewed members of Team CTS who had just participated in the sleepout and broadcast the message behind the Big City Sleepout to its largest audience yet!
Thank you to Allison Ferns and Hanna Neter for the opportunities and interviews!
Thanks to the remarkable fundraising efforts of our participants, not to mention their resilience on the big night, we were able to raise…
But it was more than just the sleepout on the 6th that contributed towards our £41,810 total…
Will Hayward wasn’t able to attend the rescheduled BCS, so he attended his own!
We first met Will as a young person using the centre, before joining our team of volunteers and, later still, our team of staff.
If you thought it was cold on the night of our sleepout, just wait until you see Will’s photos below:
Hattie, the 9-year-old ‘sleepout’ superstar, also hosted a sleepout of her own. Sleeping out in her back garden for a total of eight nights, Hattie raised more than £1,000 for CTS”
Hattie made a special guest appearance the night of our Big City Sleepout, sharing her valuable advice and wishing the all event’s participants good luck!
In addition to our inspiring individual fundraisers, we would like to say a massive THANK YOU to the following companies who demonstrated their strength in numbers, combining their fundraising efforts and braving the cold as a team:
Arc IT Recruitment
Graves Son & Pilcher
Leaving Care Team
Sawyer & Co
The Sandwich Society
From all of us at Team CTS, we humbly and wholeheartedly thank you for making Big City Sleepout 2023 an overwhelming and unforgettable success!
