A Visit from the Seagulls

Back in December we were lucky enough to be paid a visit to the centre by Albion in the Community (AITC), the official charity of Brighton & Hove Albion FC. As part of AITC’s Christmas Wish programme, CTS was nominated as deserving a special thank you for our work helping young people experiencing homelessness.

We were surprised by a visit from former Brighton player turned coach and pundit Steve Sidwell. Steve presented the CTS with a shirt signed by the Albion squad, and was keen to learn about tackling homelessness locally. Alongside this, a video message from striker Danny Welbeck (featuring some very fetching novelty glasses) had everyone cracking a smile beneath the face masks!

The Clock Tower Sanctuary team were thrilled to be nominated by long-term supporters, the Danahar family. Barbara Danahar, along with sons George and Steven, plus Steve’s partner Sydney, were also able to come in person to see our work this Winter and how their donations change lives.

Receiving recognition for our amazing staff and volunteers from the Albion in the Community team was a real highlight for the end of the year. We are so grateful to them and the Danahar family for making it happen. Many of the young people we support are keen football fans, and the framed shirt will get pride of place in the day centre! Come on you Seagulls!
