Will you give a gift to a young person who is homeless?

We believe some things should never be too much to ask. But right now, young people just like Charlotte have fewer services in our city to get help, and feel safe.

That’s why young people in our city need the Clock Tower Sanctuary now more than ever. We can offer them companionship, stability, advice, hot food, emergency support, and more.

But we need your help. Each and every day, many young people rely on us for safety and support. Will you help young people like Charlotte with a gift?

Charlotte’s story:

Like all too many of the young people we support, Charlotte became homeless following a family breakdown. Her relationship with drugs and alcohol became an addiction, and Charlotte, through no fault of her own and just trying to survive, found herself in increasingly unsafe situations.

The hardest part about being homeless for me has been the trauma, all the trauma that I went through. But having people that cared is what got me out of that. When I was vulnerable, not really knowing or caring what I was doing… there were people that wanted better for me, and that encouraged me to get better.

I’ve been coming to Sanky for 7 years, since I was 17, and it’s definitely helped me with growing up. When I was out on the streets, a lot of people who are older, they don’tact very grown up. But seeing people here, it made me realise how important it is to grow and do better.”

Charlotte has worked incredibly hard on her sobriety, mental health, and her relationships with therapy, her family, and herself. She has support, stability, encouragement, and a safe space at CTS, and, for the first time in a long time, Charlotte is looking forward to the future.

“Without Sanky, things would be really different. I probably wouldn’t have gotten sober. Everyone really cares here, and I just think it’s a really good environment. I think a lot of kids that grow up around the streets, they don’t have anything like this. I think it’s definitely helped a lot of kids get out of bad situations, out of lives of crime, and it’s given them somewhere safe.

The Clock Tower Sanctuary is such an important place for young people who are homeless in Brighton & Hove. But we can only keep it going with your support. Today, we need your help more than ever.
