Big City Sleepout - Monday 1st December

Our biggest fundraising event of the year, offering a tiny glimpse into the challenges young people face when sleeping rough.

A Tribute to Frank Doubleday

Frank Doubleday performing and fundraising for CTS in 2022

We would love to pay tribute to one of our fantastic supporters and fundraisers, Frank Doubleday, who sadly passed away recently. We’ve had the pleasure of knowing Frank since 2022 when he did his first fundraising gig for us as part of the band Frank Doubleday & The Blues Volcanoes. He was a brilliant entertainer and musician, and he loved the blues. Over the past few years he did regular packed benefit gigs which always got people up and dancing, regularly raising a huge amount of cash to support our service. He cared deeply about youth homelessness, shown by his dedication to fundraising for the Clock Tower Sanctuary.

Frank said, “Music is a gift given to me by my mentor, Big John, who took me as a son. I’ve had a lot of help in my life, and I try to pay it back in the way I can. Also, my wife has always believed that looking after others comes back to you.”

We couldn’t keep our doors open or service going without people like Frank out in our community raising money for us, and we will miss seeing him pop into our office for gig updates.

Our thoughts and sympathy are with his son Frank and the rest of his family, band, and friends. Rest in Peace, Frank (with an eternal blues soundtrack).

If you would like to donate to his In Memory page, you can do so here.

A huge thank you to Frank and his family for the incredible support over the years. It has directly contributed to young people experiencing homelessness having a safe space to shape their own future.
