The Pret Foundation supports The Clock Tower Sanctuary
The Pret Foundation Trust, the charity arm of Pret, have been fantastic supporters of The Sanctuary. We are really excited to be teaming up with their Pret Apprenticeship Scheme, which provides a homeless young person a fully supported training programme at one of their stores.
Pret puts it best when they say that homelessness creates a ‘cruel catch-22 situation’. If you have no fixed address, how do you get a bank account? Without a bank account, how do you get a job? These issues are often exacerbated by poor academic attainment or a lack of work experience.
In an effort to break this cycle, Pret offer homeless people a fresh start and specialist support. We are delighted to be teaming up with the Apprenticeship Scheme to provide our clients with such a unique opportunity to help them enter employment and get their lives back on track.
The Clock Tower Sanctuary have their own Pret Experience day!
Last week, Kirstie (Youth Engagement Co-ordinator) and Richard (Move-on Support Co-ordinator) from The Sanctuary rolled up their sleeves and spent a day at the North Street Brighton store.

Kirstie and Richard will be helping to prepare the candidate for the world of work and what better way to get to grips with the job then to have a go yourself!
“We spent the day in the kitchen preparing food and on the shop floor, which has given me a very good feel for what the apprentices will be doing on a daily basis. We worked closely with Raymond who will be training the apprentices. He was an excellent trainer with a real care for our client group.” Kirstie Maginn, The Sanctuary.
